Our Services
Information, Advocacy and Referral
Our friendly and experienced team are available to talk with you and explore different services and programs to best meet your needs.
We provide support to help you to connect and stay connected to your local community.
We assist people to connect with information, advocacy and referral to appropriate services and programs.
We provide practical assistance such as filling out forms, letter or email writing or assistance to negotiate a utility bill payment.
Our service is:
- impartial and non-judgemental,
- culturally sensitive
- confidential and open to all, regardless of age or background.
Education Support
When funding is available, we provide assistance with school expenses.
Support can include assistance obtaining books, uniforms and other equipment for primary and secondary school students.
Energy Assistance Program
The Energy Assistance Program is a free service designed to support you if you are having trouble paying your energy bills. We can help you to save money and receive help connecting with your energy retailer.
The program aims to:
- provide you with one-on-one help to navigate the energy market
- help you manage the rising cost of living by saving money on energy bills
To access the program, you should:
- hold a Commonwealth Government Concession card; or
- be struggling or expecting to struggle to pay your energy bill.
No Interest Loan scheme (NILS)
If you are eligible, you can receive a loan for essential items and expenses. on low incomes safe, fair and affordable loans for household appliances, furniture, education essentials such as computers and textbooks and some medical expenses, car expenses and mobile phones.
To be eligible for NILS you must:
- Earn $70,000 or less if you are single and $100,000 or less (combined income) if you have a partner or children
- An applicant is also eligible if they have experienced family or domestic violence in the last 10 years
- Have lived at your current address for at least 3 months and have the ability to repay the loan. Loans are for up to $2000 ($3,000 for some expenses, such as a bond/rent in advance).

Tax Help
This is a free service, for residents who earn $60,000 or less per annum, to help lodge a tax return. The program is delivered by trained team members who provide free and confidential service to help complete a tax return on-line. This program runs from July to October each year.
Material and Financial Assistance Program
When funding is available, we may be able to assist you with food, personal care items, practical items and financial assistance.
